Berlusconi's undeniable succes : his hair graft

9 December 2010. We know that several personalities, especially actors, resorted to hair graft with remarquables results.before the hair graft

Rarely were we able to realize the metamorphosis of their hair, because often they benefited from a transplant before their baldness became visible. For the current Italian Prime Minister the story is different.

Here to the left, we can see him in 2005, before any transplant or hair graft.

during hair graftHere, Mr. Berlusconi with a kind of turban on the head, when he self-confidently allowed photos to be taken, having undergone the hair transplant during summer 2007.

One would even say that this amuses him. He had publicly declared to have undergone a hair graft.

after hair graftBelow, Mr Berlusconi in a recent photo, with a hair worth that of Big Jim or Ken (Barbie’s husband ).

Not bad for a 74-year-old man!

On the other hand, if we look at the lack of symmetry of its mouth, we can suspect that there was a face-lift which was less successful than the hair transplant…

Spain already world champion... for aesthetic medicine!

Aesthetic medicine in Spain

Aesthetic medicine in Spain

07/10/2010. It’s hard to believe, but the specialized international press leaves no doubt: Spain is the first country of Europe as for the annual number of interventions of aesthetic medicine, in spite of its population of hardly 40 million inhabitants. But it is also the 5th country in the world for the annual number of interventions of aesthetic medicine, while as population, it’s not even among the first 20 ones. In 2009, in spite of the crisis, the consumption of botox increased by 25 % there.

It’s thus the first country in the world for the use of aesthetic medicine, in proportion of its population.

Do you want a scientific explanation? It’s also, probably, the country of the world where women of which expose themselves teh most to the sun. Moreover, the sentence of Spanish most known world is “Vamos a la e playa “, no? Well, the prolonged exposure to the sun prematurely ages your skin.

Besides, botox sounds good in Spanish. Have you got a Spanish girlfriend? Ask her “Te gusta el botox, chica? ” Sounds good, doesn’t it? Then, pull back, because, if she’s ” caliente “, she could slap your face…

What aesthetic medicine is meant for

Aesthetic medicine and harmony

Aesthetic medicine and harmony

We attach a lot of importance to our physical aspect; sometimes this can translate into a more or less explicit refusal of aging. We can then perceive aesthetic medicine especially as a therapy of renovation.

Aesthetic medicine arises in Paris in 1973 from Dr. J.J. Legrand’s intuition that an individual is healthy when he is in accordance with his own physical and mental aspect. It’s an integral part of some traditional medical rules that it applies, with extreme scientific rigor, for both diagnosis and therapies. It involves a constant respect for the health understood as absence of disease, but, especially, as psycho-physical balance and beauty. Aesthetic medicine wants a healthy individual, who feels comfortable with his look. It’s a preventive and corrective medicine; its purpose should not be intended in the sense of “renovation”, because every age has its aspect, but of restoration of functions disturbed by emotional stress, by one’s behavior, by the years which wear off one’s body.

It is possible, for example, that the daily work in front of the computer increases disproportionately the wrinkles of our forehead. Aesthetic medicine intervenes to harmonize the aspect of our forehead with the rest of our face. On the other hand, if we expect a generalized renovation of the latter, we risk to force the hand to the doctor, thus being disappointed.

To put it bluntly, if we are in our forties, it’s easier, for aesthetic medicine, to give us back a well-balanced and pleasant aspect, than to make us look as we were in our late twenties.

Aesthetic medicine, watch out for hyped news

hair removal by Lumea

The market for permanent hair removal is hot, so it’s not surprising to see a continuous flow of news on the Web. The last wave concerns the new hair remover from Philips, the Lumea. According to the Daily Telegraph, it’s even ” sacred Graal of hair removal”. No kidding. I just want their and why some newspapers are so willing to praise certain products…

Thus let’s compare this new technological marvel with hair removal with pulsed light realized by a specialized center of aesthetic medicine. As a source, we shall use the Web site of Philips, to avoid any suspicion of being too critical.

Notwithstanding certain press articles, Lumea does not belong to the domain of definitive have removal. In fact, Philips says “use Lumea every other week on armpits and shirt, and every four weeks on legs … ” As for the safety of its use and the dangers of side effects of the removal of hair : “If the hair remover Philips Lumea is correctly used, the removal of hair is quite gentle and safe, even on skin and sensitive zones. ” If ?! … And if not? As for the applicability to the various types of skin: ” not adapted to the red, light-blond, grey hairs, and onblack skins. Philips Lumea is effective on naturally dark and brown hairs. Philips Lumea IS NOT suitable for persons whose hairs are naturally red, grey or light-blond. Philips Lumea IS NOT suitable for very dark skins (type VI).”

Once more, the user is entrusted with the safeguard on his own skin. Even the duration of the arouses some doubts : “Philips Lumea is a gift with a lamp which lasts 40,000 flashes”. If we are to take into account the number of flashes per minute, this doesn’t seem a whole lot.

Finally, the 499-Euro pricing: you can see why it’s tenfolds cheaper than a professional hair remover, can’t you?

Capillary cloning, the new technical marvel?

Original article, copyright cosmetic-surgery.fr – Source of the information: Intercytex Group plc – Manchester U.K.-Cette information is under the responsibility of their authors and does not engage our site.

It is about a new auto-transplantation technique of regeneration of hair for the male baldness and the feminine alopecia.

Capillary cloning

Capillary cloning

A small sample of hairy follicles of the tissue for the transplant of hair is taken by the patient during a simple operation made under local anesthetic to the private hospital. The tissue is sent to the industrial installation of Intercytex, a company based in Manchester in the United Kingdom, where the cells of the inductive dermic papillae of hair are separated from the follicle. These cells are cultivated and spread in proprietary media for more than eight weeks and afterward returned to the private hospital in a sterile suspension.

By using a specialized system of delivery, the cells of the inductive dermic papillae of hair are micro-injected in the scalp of the patient. The treatment is executed under local anesthetic and includes a procedure of superficial injections, every injection delivering a tiny volume of media containing cells of dermic papillae capable of inciting the new growth of hair. After the procedure, the new growth of hair should become evident after approximately three months.

German researchers: aesthetic leds could ease wrinkles

esthetic ledGerman researchers describe a potential alternative to botox and plastic surgery to ease the wrinkles of the face. Their study reports that the high intensity visible light of emitted by diodes (LED), applied daily during several weeks, succeeded in “a younger looking skin, reduced wrinkles, rejuvenated complexion and long-lasting resistance”.

The LEDs are miniature lights used in several products, such as the remote control of the TV or traffic lights.

In their research, Andrei P. Somer and Dan Zhu underline that the high intensity visible lighthas been used in medicine for more than 40 years to accelerate the cure of wounds. This light penetrates effectively into the skin, creating changes in subcutaneous tissues. Until this day, however, the scientists ignore the physico-chemical nature of these changes.

Their report determines how the visible light works: by changing the molecular structure of an adhesive layer of water on the elastin, the protein which confers its elasticity on the skin, the blood vessels, the heart and the other parts of the body. Figuratively, the light chases away these water molecules which are involved) in the immobilization of elastin, restoring gradually its elastic function and thus reducing the wrinkles of the face.

“We are to believe that our approach cannot be be easily converted in programs of deep physical rejuvenation”, declare the researchers.

Palmar hyperhidrosis or excessive hand sweating can be cured by Botox

hyperhidrosis

Did you ever shake hands with anybody and got the unpleasant sensation of touching a clammy skin? You may have judged a little this person, by considering him ill-at-ease or incapable of mastering his emotions.

Well, badly controlled emotionalism is not the cause of clammy hands, although a hyperactivity of the sympathetic system is in question. It is well and truly about a pathological affection, even hereditary in 70 % of the cases, which touches about 60 million persons worldwide, by causing a hypersweating of palms, and / or feet, armpits, and face. Beyond the embarrassment or the bad impression that it arouses in their fellows when they shake hands with them, these persons experience serious difficulties with the keyboards of computers and mobile phones, with their tennis rackets, etc.

Among remedies readied by the aesthetic medicine, Iontophoresis is a lifelong treatment requiring regular sessions. Botox, approved in several countries for the treatment of palmar hyperhidrosis, seems more feasible, especially because one can use it only on demand, for example when he has to exchange particularly important handshakes …

Aesthetic medicine is taking over plastic surgery, thanks to... cutting-edge technological innovations!

aesthetic medicineWe suspected it, considering the videos of movie stars deformed by the bistoury which circulate on the web. Aesthetic medicine is taking over plastic surgery. It seems that its growth is assured at least until 2015. Interventions which do without any surgical cut had a 700 % growth since 1999, for men and women altogether.

The American Society of plastic Surgeons calculates that plastic surgery represents hardly 12 % of aesthetic interventions compared to 34 % four years ago. Especially in the field of face renovation, thanks also to cutting-edge technological innovations, the soft interventions of the medicine are more and more looked for, to the detriment of the bistoury.

Aesthetic medicine and stars

Aesthetic medicine and stars

Aesthetic medicine becomes more and more powerful. Numerous possibilities are offered to make you look younger, to improve your aspect, even to modify it considerably. It’s completely normal that there be abuses, since it’s not easy to discern the limits and the risks of side effects of such or such other intervention. To avoid asking too much from science, or from his own body, it’s necessary, to know what we want. It is almost a philosophic question. What is the value which we want to grant to our aesthetic aspect? How much does it interact with our psychology, our self esteem, our ease in relations with our fellows? There are variables susceptible to change enormously according to the individual, his psychological profile, his emotional or professional life. If my profession often exposes me at the public (journalist, desk clerk, etc.), my aspect will be all the more important.

Still, ethics play a considerable role. It’s necessary to question oneself. What is the importance which I grant to friendship, to personal relations? My outside aspect should be kept in just consideration: on one hand, making it more pleasant is not enough to change profoundly my relations with my fellow men; on the other hand, a younger or improved aspect can facilitate them in a way which varies according to the person, its value system, his situation.
